Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

More E3 goodness is on the way.  There is now a new update for the Red Alert series.  We have some new screenshots and a look at the new faction for the game.  This third game in the series will be a bit crazier than its Command & Conquer partner.  They’ve added a whole slew of Japanese goodness as the Rising Sun Empire.  It is basically what would happen if a J-pop star and all the transformers partnered up to fight the Soviet Union.  That’s...

A Cry in the Night

The latest look at Far Cry 2 is pretty promising.  They just unleashed a nighttime demonstration for the Pipeline mission.  In general it holds all the basics of Far Cry that the old fans will like.  You can sneak around and use silenced darts to knock out guards and eventually rush in to finish the rest off.  The mechanics look smooth and the tactics seem to be amped up a bit. More important though is the consideration that is being put into this.  Ubisoft...

Endwar Voices Up

It’s time for another release from the mind of Tom Clancy.  This time it revolves around a global world war for precious resources.  Not exactly original, but you aren’t here for the story.  The new addition to the Clancy franchise is EndWar.  It will be an interesting addition to a growing genre.  This is the genre of strategy games for the consoles.  EndWar is certainly thinking outside the box.  They’ve adapted a new form of voice...

Mercenaries 2 – Personal Worries

I personally love the ideas behind the Mercenaries series.  It functions on the principle that blowing up stuff in a sandbox environment is fun.  I support that.  I’m worried by the new looks at gameplay we’ve been getting though.  There have been several times when they’ve demonstrated the gameplay as the August 31st release date draws near. One note in particular stuck out.  This is the inclusion of a grappling hook to hijack helicopters. ...

Gears of War 2 – Update

It seems that Gears of War 2 is moving along nicely.  There are plans a lot of new graphical upgrades in the game to prevent a realistic environment for your war games.  There is also some general talk about improving the single player to make the game capable of standing on its own two legs.  There is a stronger campaign that is basically just an excuse to kill stuff, but that shouldn’t be a problem. The big talk so far is the multiplayer.  They...

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway – New Features Shown in Previews

E3 is getting ready to go full force next week.  This means will be seeing much more of some of the industry’s biggest launches.  The Brothers in Arms series is already showing off some more gameplay footage in released movies and new screenshots.  The graphics look spectacular.  The gameplay hasn’t been touched much, so one can expect the same tactical play familiar to the series.  The big addition will be environmental damage.  Sandbags...

Sid Meier’s Civilization: Revolution

This new addition to the Civilization series will be released on July 8th.  It will take the series in a radical new direction though.  This version was built specifically for handhelds and consoles.  Gameplay is shorter with faster gameplay options overall.  This should make it perfect for quick multiplayer games or for killing some time while you’re out.   If you’re interested in trying your hand at the Civilization series or if you’re...

Devil May Cry 4 Port

Devil May Cry 4 will have its PC version released on July 8th.  Fans of the series not blessed with a console should be happy to pick up a good slashing game for their PC.  It looks like all the graphics made a nice transition and the controls should make a fine transition.  Keep an eye out for it at your local game store starting next week.  Read More →

Chrono Trigger to Be Released for Nintendo DS

There is some good news for fans of RPG games. Square Enix has officially announced that Chrono Trigger will be ported to the Nintendo DS for the upcoming Christmas season. This is welcome news for a growing population asking for a good port of the game to be made for the little handheld’s. Many of them were hoping that it would be an addition to the virtual console, but this separate release should be a more satisfying update despite the higher cost. Square...

Preview of James Bond: Quantum of Solace

There’s some new information being kicked around by the developers for this one.  A series of screenshots were just released to tease us for the future release of this companion to the Bond movie of the same name.  The graphics look pretty sharp but I’m worried about some descriptions. I feel a mix of hope and fear towards this new title.  The game has been picked up by developing powerhouse Treyarch and uses the same engine as Call of Duty 4. ...
