We covered the announcement of Raven Squad earlier.  They’ve released some new gameplay footage showing their tactical options in action.  If you didn’t know before, Raven Squad has been getting a lot of buzz because of its promise to provide a mixture of FPS action alongside RTS gameplay.  The mission that they showed started off with the two four-man squads moving in for a rescue mission.  One has more offensive options with grenades and machine... 

More E3 goodness is on the way.  There is now a new update for the Red Alert series.  We have some new screenshots and a look at the new faction for the game.  This third game in the series will be a bit crazier than its Command & Conquer partner.  They’ve added a whole slew of Japanese goodness as the Rising Sun Empire.  It is basically what would happen if a J-pop star and all the transformers partnered up to fight the Soviet Union.  That’s... 

I personally love the ideas behind the Mercenaries series.  It functions on the principle that blowing up stuff in a sandbox environment is fun.  I support that.  I’m worried by the new looks at gameplay we’ve been getting though.  There have been several times when they’ve demonstrated the gameplay as the August 31st release date draws near. One note in particular stuck out.  This is the inclusion of a grappling hook to hijack helicopters. ... 

E3 is getting ready to go full force next week.  This means will be seeing much more of some of the industry’s biggest launches.  The Brothers in Arms series is already showing off some more gameplay footage in released movies and new screenshots.  The graphics look spectacular.  The gameplay hasn’t been touched much, so one can expect the same tactical play familiar to the series.  The big addition will be environmental damage.  Sandbags... 

Devil May Cry 4 will have its PC version released on July 8th.  Fans of the series not blessed with a console should be happy to pick up a good slashing game for their PC.  It looks like all the graphics made a nice transition and the controls should make a fine transition.  Keep an eye out for it at your local game store starting next week.  Read More →

I think just about everyone and their charmed demon knows about the latest announcement from Blizzard. Well, it seems that Diablo 3 is now a bright speck on the horizon. This is good news for fans of the action RPG genre, but I think it is too far away to get overly excited about. I’ll take a hard look at the trailer and emerging bits of news later in the week. A new Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion is in development, titled “Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir”. Matthew Rorie, the Marketing and PR producer of Obsidian released a bit about the new expansion pack. Hit the jump to read all about the new expansion. For what it’s worth, I was a fan of the first few levels of the original Far Cry. I thought the game got a bit silly when the hairless mutant apes with cannons on their shoulders came into play.
