Gears of War has already been touted as a “great” game. In the for two weeks of it’s release, Gears of War had sold an amazing 1 million copies. This is topped by being the the most played game on Xbox Live. Surpassing the numbers that Halo 2 had established.

It’s now official. Six weeks into it’s release, Gears of War has now sold a whopping 2 million units. That’s right, 2 million. The game has gone platinum in the US alone, selling over a million copies. Also attributing to the success of the game, Xbox Live Gold subscriptions have increased by 50 percent, which is required to play the game online.
