Come mid-November, 360 owners in North America, UK, France, Germany, and Japan will be able to enjoy HD-DVD movies with the release of the HD-DVD add-on from Microsoft. The “estimated” retail price for the North American release will be $199.99. Other release prices will see £129.99 for the UK, and 199.99 euros for France and Germany. Again, these are being labled as “estimated” retail prices. Final prices may differ.

A HD-DVD drive is pretty useless without any content for it, so Microsoft is shipping Peter Jackson’s King Kong on HD-DVD, and an Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote. As far as we know, the HD-DVD drive will only be used for movies.
