PS3: Weighed, measured, and found wanting.

Sony has announced that it’s forecast of 4 million PS3 units for a worldwide release has been changed. Apparently they are having difficulty with the production of the blue laser diode that’s crucial for the Blu-Ray developement.

This delay means that PAL territories will be watching from the touchlines while the US and Japanese markets start playing their PS3 game cosoles on Novemeber 17th, and Nov. 11th respectively. Sony has also stated that there will only be 400,000 units available on release day in the US, and 100,000 units for the Japanese release date of the 11th of Novemeber.

Sony has not given a specific date when Europe will be getting their hands on this bit of gaming goodness.

I guess you can say “all good things come to those that wait”.
