The backward compatibility programs of the XBOX 360, which allowed gamers to play games from the XBOX on the next generation console, drew many complaints because of the many bugs in the system. Today, Sony announced that the Playstation 3 would allow gamers to not only play all their old Playstation and Playstation 2 games, but also use the data that they had saved on their memory cards when playing games form the older consoles on the Playstation 3.
This should be a very useful tool for Playstation Fans who have either one or both of the older consoles and are hoping to play their old games in better graphics bu using the Playstation 3. This information was posted on the official Playstation 3 web site and we will keep you posted on any updates on the backward compatibility of the PS3 here at Video Game News.
