Nothing seems certain about the release date of the Nintendo Wii. Now, many sources are reporting that the Wii may now drop this summer to get a head start ion the Playstation 3, but nothing is certain.

The Wii is expected to start at $250 in the US but this too was not officially announced. The new rumored release date would have a number of advantages for the Wii which include a very helpful head start and increased sakes and popularity by the time the PS3 launches this Fall.
“Sony and Microsoft are formidable opponents,” said Jon Erensen, an analyst with Gartner. “It’s certainly going to make Christmas a little more interesting.”
We will have to see how each console system fares this Fall and through the holiday season and beyond.
