Looks like EA has finally gotten out of its sales slump. Madden NFL 2006 sold 1.7 Million copies during its first week, setting a new record in sales for EA.
And with Battlefield 2 exceeding 1 million in sales, it looks like EA is on the road to recovery with a decent lineup of new titles for the upcoming Xbox 360. Many people feel that the lack of a competitor (specifically Take-Two Sports) this year led to the game’s success, but EA wants to attribute the high sales to the added features in the game. Madden NFL 2006 had an average score hovering around 88%-89% on the 3 major consoles according to gamerankings so you can make your own judgment on that. 😉
