The Tales of series is very long running is a pretty good option in a FF/DQ ruled genre. One of the best entries in the series came out a while back on the Gamecube, and is getting a sequel on the Wii, called Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. This much is old news, but im willing to bet plenty of people didn’t know that (I know, an RPG for the Wii excites me too!).
A bunch of new screens have been shown for the game, which can be seen by clicking the link below. In them we see the game taking on a bit more of a cartoony/ cell-shaded look than before, and is to feature some type of pokemon-like system of catching and training monsters. Looks like a good RPG to me! Below is the newest trailer of it, if you want to see it in action, because news on this one is scarce.
