We earlier reported that the lower end PS3 was getting a price cut in Japan, and the rumors were abundant whether the US would be getting the same break before launch. It’s been confirmed now with SCEA president Kaz Hirai stating that there will not be a price drop for the North American price point for the PS3 launch.

There is good news to bring a little shine to your day though. ALL 20GB PS3 systems will be equipped with HDMI connectivity.
